How to Start or Join a Couple’s Bible Study

1. Choose a topic (i.e. marriage, forgiveness), passage or book of the Bible (i.e. Ephesians, Genesis 1), character (i.e. Adam and Eve, Ruth and Boaz), or Christian book to study.
2. Choose a date and time.
3. Invite others to join you!

Top 3 Advantages of an Online Couple’s Bible Study

1. Diversity. Joining an online bible study allows you to interact with people who may have backgrounds and experiences that vastly differ from those in your local church community.
2. At home date night. Turn this time into a date and do something special together after your study session. If you have children, this can be a cool way to model prioritizing your marriage and to set healthy boundaries, showing your children that mom and dad need time together.
3. Discipleship and Community. Joining a Bible study group gives you the opportunity to build relationships, study God’s word, seek encouragement and accountability, and cultivate a sense of belonging.

Why Learning from Elders is Important to Long-lasting Marriage

One of the qualifications for a church elder is to be the “husband of one wife” and to “manage his own household well.” The idea is that a man cannot love and serve his church well if he cannot do those things for his own family. But these requirements also give members of the church an example of what a godly marriage should look like. Elders and their wives are called to be above reproach, to serve sacrificially, and to be respectable and well thought of by others.
