Men's Bible Study

An online men's bible study is a way to bring together men from your community in an online format to help them grow closer to God and create fellowship with one another. A men's bible study can be used as a springboard to creating offshoot groups, friendships, and lifelong camaraderie.

Why Start a Men’s Bible Study?

One of the most fundamental disciplines for a Christian is Bible study. Studying God’s word not only helps us learn more about God, but also draws us into a closer relationship with Him. As we study God’s Word with our brothers in Christ, it strengthens our bonds with them as well. Often men struggle with actually studying God’s word. We tend to be more doers than thinkers, so taking time to sit, read and think can be a challenge. As men, we need to first realize the importance of Bible study and simply just do it.

How to Start a Men’s Bible Study

  1. Choose a topic (i.e. fatherhood, courage), passage or book of the Bible (i.e. Ephesians, Psalm 40), character (i.e. Gideon, Paul), or Christian book to study.
  2. Choose a date and time.
  3. Invite others to join you!

If you’d like to start or join a Journal Owl Bible Journey study, instructions can be found at the end of this article

Top 3 Advantages of Men’s Bible Study

  1. Guidance. Scripture offers clear do’s and don’ts but also opens our hearts and minds to discern God’s will.
  2. Be Known. A men’s bible study gives us a safe place to let our guard down and truly allow ourselves to be known by others.
  3. Discipleship and Community. Joining a Bible study group gives you the opportunity to build relationships, study God’s word, seek encouragement and accountability, and cultivate a sense of belonging.

Why Fellowship Matters to Men of All Ages

Being known by others is a critical part of being a Christian man, no matter our age. We need to have others who are willing to push us towards God when we are pulling away or to encourage us when we are struggling. Having a group of men that you can watch the game with but also count on to have your back and keep you vigilant in your pursuit of Christ is invaluable.
